US-12 (Michigan Ave) pavement repairs in

west downtown Dearborn to begin week of September 8

August 28, 2008 — Work crews are scheduled to begin a pavement repair project on a one-mile section of US-12 (Michigan Avenue) in west Dearborn beginning the week of Sept. 8. The repair work, between Brady and Washington streets, is expected to take place during the overnight hours to limit the impact to business along the corridor.

During the overnight hours, the contractor will maintain a single lane of traffic in each direction of Michigan Avenue. On weekday evenings, work will begin at 9 p.m. with all lanes open to traffic by 5 a.m. the following mornings. On weekends, crews will begin repair work at 9 p.m. with all lanes open by 8 a.m. the following mornings.

This $456,000 investment will replace the most deteriorated sections of pavement in order to improve the ride quality on this heavily traveled artery in west downtown Dearborn. All work is scheduled to be completed by early November.
